Essential Information

Visa Requirements

All foreigners need a visa to enter Nepal. You can get it at a Nepalese embassy abroad or upon arrival in Nepal. Most people obtain their visa upon arrival at Kathmandu airport.

You will need a passport photo and the following fees depending:

  • 15 days USD $ 25 or an equivalent convertible currency
  • 30 days USD $ 40 or an equivalent convertible currency
  • 90 days USD 100 or equivalent convertible currency

Cultural consideration

For those of you visiting Nepal, we recommend cultural information to help you adjust and feel good:

The dress code is essential for both men and women. Men and women should wear pants instead of shorts during a tour in Kathmandu. It's fine for men in vests, but Women should try to be as modest as possible in these situations.

Hindus are concerned about ritual contamination of food when someone outside their caste or religion touches it. Therefore, do not touch any cooked food on display. When you drink from a container used by others, do not touch your lips. Do not eat with your left hand, and be sure to eat or receive only your right hand. The shoes are considered degrading. So keep them on the floor and take them out before you put your feet on something. When entering a Nepal house, follow the example of your host to decide if you want to take off your shoes. However, when you enter a temple or monastery, you must remove them.

You will pass Buddhist walls, Chorten, and Buddhist stupas along the way, and follow local traditions and place them on your right.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance for each itinerary of our company is a prerequisite for booking vacations. At a minimum, you must have emergency health and repatriation insurance that must include the cost of mountain rescue, theft, loss, damage, and clinical problems. It is a brilliant idea when you travel to Nepal. A variety of policies are available. Please read your insurers' general terms and conditions carefully; mainly, they write in an essential part in small print. Some guidelines exclude "dangerous activities," including motorcycling and trekking, bungee jumping, and rafting.

Select a policy covering emergency and clinical repatriation, including the evacuation of walking helicopters and general medical evacuation. You may prefer a policy that pays hospitals directly instead of paying locally and making subsequent claims. In Nepal, most clinical treatments must pay at delivery. If your insurance company doesn't make an advance payment, make sure you receive the receipts to claim them later.

Best Experience of Nepal Trip: Buddhist Pilgrimage tour review

Nepal has various shrines for Buddhists and Hindus. We discovered the wonderful and unique Buddhist and Hindu culture with diversity during our Buddhist pilgrimage to Nepal. We had great vacation packages, and everything was well planned and done. Many thanks to our driver and guide for organizing a trip smoothly. Mr. Kishor went out of his way to make our trip a success. He answered all of our questions efficiently and quickly. Our main goal was to go on this Buddhist pilgrimage to learn the Buddha's birthplace and other Buddhist sites. Nepal Tour & Trekking Service P. Ltd is a great local tour operator that we can recommend.
